Privacy and Secure Information

How Archeus protects your data with sandboxed execution, encrypted storage, and strict access controls.

Privacy by Design

Privacy is not an afterthought at Archeus — it is foundational to the architecture. Every component is designed with data protection as a core requirement, not a feature to add later. From the sandbox isolation to the encrypted communication channels, privacy controls are woven into every layer of the system.

This design philosophy means that privacy protections are enforced by the system architecture, not by policy alone. Even if a component fails or is misconfigured, the architectural safeguards prevent unauthorized data access. This defense-in-depth approach provides robust protection against a wide range of threats.

Archeus privacy posture is regularly assessed through internal audits, external penetration testing, and security reviews. These assessments verify that privacy controls work as designed and identify opportunities for improvement.

Sandboxed Execution

Every task runs in an isolated sandbox with no access to your local machine, other sandboxes, or the broader Archeus infrastructure. Code execution, file operations, and web browsing all happen within these secure boundaries. The sandbox provides a controlled environment where automated tasks cannot cause harm.

Sandboxes are ephemeral — they exist only for the duration of the task and are destroyed afterward. No temporary data, intermediate results, or execution traces persist beyond the task lifecycle. This ephemeral model ensures that sensitive data is not stored longer than necessary.

The sandbox isolation extends to network access. Sandboxes can only connect to resources required for the specific task. Network traffic is logged and auditable, providing visibility into what external services the sandbox communicates with during task execution.

Data Encryption

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3, the latest and most secure transport encryption standard. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256, the gold standard for data encryption. Your files, conversation history, and preferences are stored in encrypted form with strict access controls.

Encryption keys are managed through a secure key management system with hardware security module support. Keys are rotated regularly, and access to key material is restricted to authorized systems. Archeus operators cannot access your data without your explicit authorization.

For sensitive data, Archeus supports additional encryption options. You can provide your own encryption keys for end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only you can decrypt your data. This option is available for enterprise customers with specific compliance requirements.

Access Controls

Archeus implements role-based access controls and least-privilege principles. The system only accesses the resources required for your current task — nothing more. This minimal access approach reduces the attack surface and limits the potential impact of any security incident.

External integrations like Notion, web browsing, and API calls require explicit authorization. You control exactly what Archeus can access and when. Permissions can be scoped to specific resources, time periods, or task types, giving you fine-grained control over data access.

Authentication for Archeus uses industry-standard protocols with multi-factor authentication support. Session management includes automatic timeout, device tracking, and anomaly detection. Suspicious activity triggers additional verification steps or account lockout.
